Bernhard Waltl is a Data Scientist at the BMW Group. Until May 2018, he was a research associate at the Technical University of Munich and conducted research for several years at the interface between law and computer science with a focus on artificial intelligence and data analysis. He is co-founder of the interdisciplinary research program "Lexalyze" and works intensively with lawyers and legal scholars. Together with other experts from the GI specialist group on legal informatics, he is currently preparing an expert opinion on the regulation of algorithmic decision-making systems (https://adm.gi.de) for the Expert Council on Consumer Affairs of the Federal Ministry of Justice and Consumer Protection (BMJV).
