Dr. Volker Wissing
Federal Minister for Digital Affairs and Transport (FDP)
Dr Volker Wissing was born in Landau in the Palatinate in 1970. He studied law and holds a doctorate in law, but previously worked as a judge and public prosecutor, among other positions. In 1998, Dr Wissing joined the FDP and since then has held various offices, including state chairman in Rhineland-Palatinate and secretary-general. He was a member of the Bundestag from 2004 to 2013 and a member of the Rhineland-Palatinate state parliament from 2016 to 2021, as well as Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for the Economy, Transport, Agriculture and Viticulture of Rhineland-Palatinate. Since 2021, Dr Wissing has been Federal Minister for Digital Affairs and Transport and once again a member of the German Bundestag.
