Since October 2019, Prof. Dr.-Ing. Ina Schieferdecker has been head of the "Research for Digitisation and Innovation" department at the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF). She had worked at the Fraunhofer Institute for Open Communication Systems FOKUS since 1993, which she headed from January 2015 until the end of September 2019. In parallel, she has held a professorship at the Technische Universität Berlin on "Quality Engineering of Open Distributed Systems" since 2016 and is founding director of the Weizenbaum Institute for the Networked Society.
