Prof. Dr.-Ing. Ingo J. Timm

Ingo J. Timm holds the chair at the University of Trier, is team leader at the German Research Centre for Artificial Intelligence (DFKI), co-spokesperson of the GI Department of AI (FBKI) and member of the Future Forum for Public Security (ZOES e.V.). After studying computer science, he worked at the University of Bremen, Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis, TU Ilmenau and Goethe University Frankfurt am Main, most recently as a professor of business informatics and simulation, before accepting an appointment at the University of Trier in 2010. His research focuses on cognitive social simulation and distributed AI. The focus is on autonomous software systems, intelligent assistance systems, cognitive decision models, social interaction of autonomous systems and (social) simulation.
