Prof. Dr. Johanna Baehr

University of Hamburg

Johanna Baehr is interested in the large-scale ocean circulation, and its role in the climate system. As a tool, she employs numerical models to study the timescales of variability of oceanic quantities. Recently, she has been focusing on the prediction of the ocean circulation on seasonal to decadal timescales. She has also been working on model-based design studies for the observing system required to facilitate the detection of changes in the ocean circulation, and the Atlantic meridional overturning circulation in particular.
