Prof. Dr. Volker Wohlgemuth

University teacher at the HTW Berlin | Spokesperson for the Environmental Informatics Committee

Prof. Dr. Volker Wohlgemuth has been a university lecturer at HTW Berlin since 2005 in the fields of material flow management, modelling and simulation as well as the application and development of business environmental information systems (BUIS). He has also worked for many years in the field of discrete-event simulation and its application in corporate environmental protection to improve the resource efficiency of companies. In numerous publications and research projects, he has investigated the use of this methodology, especially in connection with software tools for material flow analysis. In addition to conducting potential analyses in the field of energy and material efficiency, especially for SMEs, Prof. Wohlgemuth is involved in the development of mobile, reusable and expandable software in the field of corporate environmental informatics. Since 2014, Volker Wohlgemuth has been the spokesperson for the Environmental Informatics Committee of the German Informatics Society.
