Call for workshops on INFORMATIK 2022

INFORMATIK 2022 is the annual conference and the most important meeting place of the “Gesellschaft für Informatik e.V. (GI)”. The 52nd Annual Conference INFORMATIK 2022 will take place from September 26th to 30th, 2022 in Hamburg.

The general theme of INFORMATIK 2022 is "Computer Science in the Natural Sciences". This topic focuses on the synergies of the various natural science disciplines with computer science. Natural sciences observe and explore nature through empiricism and experiments in order to make it understandable and usable. Computer science plays a special role here by enabling complex analyzes and predictions through processing, managing and visualizing large amounts of data. On one hand, the natural sciences use computer science as a tool, on the other hand, nature is a role model and source of inspiration in the various areas of computer science.

In addition to contributions on the main topic, we traditionally invite the submission of workshops on further topics that are currently receiving particular attention in science, practice and society. Examples include Web Science, Data Science, Internet of Everything, Safe and Reliable Systems, AI, Autonomous Driving and Mobility, Quantum Computing, Digital Health, Green Coding, Robotics, Industry 4.0, Software Engineering, Computer Ethics and Computer Science Didactics.

The workshops can take place for a full or half day. Joint social events for the workshop participants are planned. The conference management takes care of the premises for your workshop, depending on the duration and the expected number of participants. We are currently expecting a face-to-face event, but will also be prepared for hybrid or completely digital formats.

The workshop contributions will be published in the INFORMATIK 2022 conference proceedings in the LNI series. Conference languages ​​are German and English.

We are calling for workshop proposals via the proposal form. For this we need, among other things, the following data:

• Short description of the workshop topic with title and acronym
• Contact details of the organizers,
• Concept of the scientific process (target group, proceedings, invited vs. submitted lectures, selection process, possible PC members, etc.),
• reference to any previous editions of the workshop,
• Information on the organizational process (duration, expected number of participants, any special requirements for premises or technical equipment, etc.)

The Advisory Board of the conference decides on acceptance or rejection as a workshop at INFORMATIK 2022. The contributions should increase the attractiveness of the event and underline the scientific character of the conference. Please address questions about this call to workshops-hamburg@gi.de.
